Pros and cons

  • Creates a 'meadow' floor effect
  • Reproduces without intervention — runners across the substrate
  • Great for shrimp tanks — juveniles hide between the blades
  • Needs a nutrient substrate (root feeder)
  • Often melts back in the first weeks after planting
  • Knits into the substrate — replanting is hard

Description

Creates a 'lawn' of fine 10–15 cm blades. Spreads via underground runners — gradually covers the whole assigned area.

Care

Nutrient substrate, medium light. Without CO₂ it grows slower but still forms a lawn.
