Description
A dwarf South American cichlid. Males have fan-shaped dorsal-fin rays. Kept in a harem: 1 male per 2–3 females.
Care
Sandy substrate, hides (ceramic pots, coconut halves). Provide one 'cave' per female.
Feeding
Frozen bloodworm, brine shrimp, mosquito larvae. A carnivore — accepts dry foods poorly.
