Description

Endler's Livebearer (Poecilia wingei, 2–3.5 cm) is a dazzling nano fish boasting metallic neon orange, emerald, and black markings. Unlike fancy guppies, Endlers rarely eat their own fry, have rock-solid immunity, and are the ultimate peaceful swimmers for 30 L nano tanks and Neocaridina shrimp colonies.

Care

Keep in a 30 L+ aquarium with moderately hard, slightly alkaline water (24–28 °C, pH 7.0–8.0, GH 8–18). Do not house with common guppies (Poecilia reticulata) if you want to preserve pure Endler genetics; an all-male group of 6–10 gives maximum color without overpopulation.

Feeding

Omnivorous with a strong herbivorous streak: feed crushed spirulina flakes, nano pellets, baby brine shrimp, and cyclops in small frequent meals.

FAQ

Do Endler's Livebearers eat their own fry or dwarf shrimp?
Unlike common fancy guppies, Endlers rarely prey on their own fry and are completely peaceful with adult Neocaridina shrimp in mossy nano tanks.
Can you keep an all-male group of Endler's Livebearers?
Yes! A fraternity of 6–10 male Endlers in a 30 L tank provides nonstop neon color displays with zero fin-nipping and no fry overpopulation.
